Chinese New Year Party Near Stroud

Chinese New Year has become an increasingly popular occasion to celebrate across the UK, and for those near Stroud looking for somewhere to mark the occasion with a proper party or group dinner, Oakwood Hotel offers a welcoming setting just 20–25 km away, close to Gloucester.

A Warm Setting for a Seasonal Celebration

Chinese New Year celebrations at Oakwood can be arranged around a group dinner in The Grill, or, for larger parties, dedicated private space through our event facilities. The occasion suits a celebratory atmosphere — good food, drinks, and a comfortable setting for friends, family or colleagues to gather and mark the new year together.

Who Chooses Oakwood for Chinese New Year Celebrations

• Families and friends wanting to celebrate together over a group dinner
• Work colleagues or business groups marking the occasion as a team event
• Community or social groups organising a larger celebration
• Couples wanting a slightly special dinner to mark the occasion

Why Guests Near Stroud Choose Oakwood

Stroud has a range of dining options, but a dedicated space for a larger Chinese New Year celebration — particularly one requiring private hire or a specific event format — can be harder to arrange at short notice in a smaller town setting. Oakwood’s flexibility, combined with quality catering built around thoughtfully sourced ingredients, makes it a practical choice for organising a proper celebration rather than a standard dinner booking.

For guests wanting to extend the celebration, our rooms offer the option to stay over rather than travelling home after an evening of celebrating.

Planning Your Chinese New Year Event

We recommend getting in touch ahead of time to discuss group size, catering preferences and any specific requests for your celebration, particularly if you’re looking to book private space for a larger group.
